Leading Petty Officer at US Navy
February 2009 - July 2012o As the supervisor of the clinical support staff, I ensured all aspects of clinic operations were complete on a daily basis, to include all End of Day for the clinic, ensuring all documentation is completed by both physicians and support staff. o Responsible for the training of all staff to ensure 100% compliance with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). o Manage schedules for three physicians and medical staff personnel and ensure proper documentation for patients daily. o Functioned with medical staff to document deployment related and Physical Health Assessment (PHA) visits by entering data into the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), while also utilizing the Composite Healthcare Computer System (CHCA) to order diagnostic test, review results, run reports and order medical records. o Conducted site visits as a part of a deployed team to outlying clinics providing individual training for clinics that are unable to attend training due to the loss of their personnel.

March 2012o Conducts specialized classroom training as well as individual training for Physicians and Nurses throughout Naval Hospital Pensacola. o Responsible for the quality assurance of the program database integrity in the testing environment as well as acting in the capacity of the System Administrator in their absence. o Assists Clinical Champion with all items for change requests to include research and analytical issues from inpatient facilities and recommend process improvements. o Conducts routine assessments of wards to address possible concerns with the Essentris system. o Key Contributor to Lean Six Sigma project initiative to reduce delay of inpatient medical records implementation from 63% to the current 23% ahead of schedule. o Continuously works with the local Quality Improvement Coordinator, to ensure patient safety standards are adhered to through the electronic medical record system. o Partnership for Patient initiatives were integrated into the electronic health record workflow that reduce readmissions rates, as required by JACHO. o Adhering to Naval Hospital Pensacola's Process Improvement model of; Plan, Do, Check and Act. This is completed for every instance that a request for change within Essentris is requested. o Subject Matter Expert on key health care delivery system for Essentris training. Contributed to numerous committees within the command, such as the Forms Committee which provided Essentris feedback for possible changes to command processes and answer questions about the electronic health record system. o Analyzed training metrics and instituted data management requirements which assisted in several departments increasing their workflow and accuracy helping to improve documentation processes within the command.
